Hi! I’m Dr. Sandra Espinoza and I work collaboratively with women and couples who are interested in living a more fulfilling life informed by a deeper understanding of themselves and others. My clinical practice combines the science of attachment-based therapy to guide my clients in understanding how their early attachments have shaped the way their mind, brain and adult relationships develop. This understanding leads my clients to long-lasting healing and stronger bonds with their partners, friends, and children.
I received my doctorate degree in Couple and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, Los Angeles. I am also an Assistant Professor for the California School of Professional Psychology and teach in the Couple & Family Therapy program. I’m also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. I am bilingual and offer therapy in Spanish as well.
My interest areas include cultural and social justice issues and how they impact my clients’ experiences with respect to race, ethnicity, gender, and sociopolitical oppression. Integrating cultural relevance and gender sensitivity into my work helps my clients identify their unique challenges and strengths so that they can cultivate a meaningful life.
