What We’re Building

Currently, we are building mental health practitioner resources for the Latinx community. We are looking to share stories of Latinx practitioners, find mentors, and have a school/program directory for those looking to become licensed.

Are You a College or Psychology Program?

We would love to hear from you. Please share with us any advice that is available for people that want to become licensed, your program information, and what support you have to offer students. We are working on building a program directory on our website.

Please email us at [email protected] to be featured.

Are You a Latinx Mental Health Practitioner?

We are looking to share people’s stories about how they became mental health practitioners, what you had to overcome to become licensed, and how important representation is in the mental health community. Additionally, if you are open to mentoring a Latinx student or person interested in this field please let us know.

Schools

Pacific Oaks College

With society’s attention on violence and mental illness, trauma, mental health, and immigration, psychology is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing fields in the United States. Indeed, the areas in which psychology is being applied is expanding to include a diverse array of emerging fields.

Addressing the needs of our surrounding community, the School of Cultural and Family Psychology focuses on a culture-centered approach to Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)—developing programs that teach students to engage effectively with widely diverse populations in a global environment.

Students in our master’s programs learn to apply a broad range of therapeutic approaches to help individuals, couples, and families overcome a variety of mental health and behavioral issues. Empowered by an understanding driven by the collective voices of students from a variety of backgrounds, our graduates are able to find successful careers in private practice, for-profit and nonprofit organizations, and government.
